Been working on an all new playback engine for the main browser (not the sample tool, that's a different animal) The old engine was built on APIs that Apple created in the mid 2000's this one is based on their latest. You should notice improvements with mp3, acc, lossless and mp4 files the most. They now work correctly with AudioUnits and not logger have a choppy looking sound position cursor.
could you please add the option of buttons for search by " folder " file names" exact match only" way less tiring than clicking and holding and we'd be ab le to see what search parameters are active!
also my bookmarks and side bar organisation has gone!!!!! they take ages to get set up!! they have even gone from the version I was using before..
there's a bug with the cursor, I'm fixing, I haven't made any changes to the sidebar stuff at all. I'm nit sure why your bookmarks vanished, the only difference in the beta is the engine is different,
Hi! came back to report the bug with the cursor - think you know that when u highlight a section and cntrl drag to DAW - you may not get what u were expecting...
no harm done for the sidebar - I do try and back up those occasionally - i guess its a reminder to anyone who has come to rely on the great mix of scan and bookmarks... ( users/ library/app support/ audiofinder... worth right clicking and archiving every so often... )
Thanks for testing martin! That's great to know, because my test rig is 4 near field monitors and sub woofer driven by a Focusrite Saffire tricked into using them as 5.1. It's clumsy, but it lets me know if the sound is being output to the right places.
Been using the 5.3 beat for a week or two now - generally much quicker
Have found a problem though - i can no longer audition midi files? I can see them but it wont preview them or let me add a rating.
On that note I beg you to please add the functionality to rate in the main window (or tag window) which then autosaves - trying to sort though my libraries and then having to hit save for every file is the difference between this app being useful or essential (for me anyway)
anyway keep up the good work - its a great tool but would be grateful for your thoughts on my comments.
