what to do before uploading
  • HELLO GUYS

Please help, i know it must be a common question but i couldnt find the answer in the forum

So last time i update my AF software : i lost all the tags ( key signature of previous analysed fiels)

So is there a way to keep them, so i dont have to re-analyse my 20 millions drums samples again ??????

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
  • i had something similiar..

best bet find the Audio finder folder..

( i'd tell you the path - but finder has hung becos of audio finder )

    somethign like users/library/aplication support/ audiofinder//

archive that folder before upgrading for safety...

( thank god for CCC carbon copy cloer - cos it saved me a shed load of work once becos of this )

    path name is

    mac HD/ users/ your username/ library /application support /audiofinder

inside the folder are many thiings...

u can back up individually or the compress the whole folder.. or items inside the folder..

for me I needed the folders and scans to be backed up ( i just compressed them and left in folder for now - or used the Carbon copy clone of the whole drive to save your ass... )

for you I guess the item called "metadata data base " is the useful thing....

    Hello and thaks for helping,

I dont remember exactly but it happened recently, so i guess like or 4 month ago, when i update from version 4 something and now I am 5.3.4.

and i still didn't update to 5.4.4 yet

are you telling me that if i update i will keep all my tags ?
  • Yes, you will be able to keep all your tags if I understand what you are trying to do. I'm a bit confused as to what your current config is like and which way you have been using AudioFinder.

ok i am going to update and let you know

as i wrote above my configuration is a Mac with AF 5.3.4.

I use AF to see which Key are my DRUMS SAMPLES

but to see the Key i have to analyse the fiels

but once i update i usually lost all the info (key) of the previously analysed samples and I have to reanalyse them again

    is it more clear?
  • hello gguys,

    here is the update

I INSTALLED THE EW VERSION OF AF ON MY MAC BUT COULDNT OPEN IT

    WHY?

I AM OS 10.5.8 so i guess that is why

i downloaded the version of AF compatible with my system and it came back as usuall ( but on a previous version of
    AF 5.3.5. )

is there anything i can do ? is it my OS problem ?
  • In order to make AudioFinder fully 64 bit compatible in version 5.4 Mac OS X 10.5 needed to be dropped. Otherwise AudioFinder remains locked into the past and cannot use the latest technology and thus cannot improve. Since Snow Leopard is only $29 and works better than Leopard in every way, and Lion is now the current OS, it was time for AudioFinder to move forward.

However, 5.3.5 is supported for 10.5 should any big bug or issues happen I will release a 5.3.6 and etc...
