I am currently experiencing audio drop outs , I really dont know, I'v checked with the mac finder playback & all is fine using the finder to audition files but in AudioFinder I cant hear the audio when selecting files ? My audio interface is a Kore 1 type & when checking for driver errors in systems preference I notice a error is reported every time I select a drifferent file in AF for audition, in the finder an error is reported only when I change folders , once I change to another folder there is only one error reported & I can continue to browse no problems but in AF a error is reported on every file I select & I cant hear any sound ?
any ideas ? thank you Ben
edit: when used in conjunction with 'use external editor in Ableton Live the file plays back as intended also I noticed that when auditions in AF using the finder selection its here that I'm experiencing the problems.. if my file is a kick for example like a short file it wont play it & you can hear the abrupt attempt but if the file is say a loop it still misses the first 16th note of the file & plays the rest, to recap its having problems playing the first 16th note time of a file the start of the file but catches up so to speak then outputs the remainder .. & auditioning from AF when using the external option in Ableton all seems to be ok … hope this makes some sense to you Ice, thanks again Ben.
sorry, all was fine until I activated the 'disable Audio Unit Plugins' from AF preferences then the problem started again
AF cant read the initial attack from file, it tries then the play through is already over (short file) resulting in a abrupt sound like a spike sound to the monitors when a file longer than say 1 beat like a one bar loop AF cant play the initial beat (start) then catches up somewhere after that resulting sound is 'sound from one monitor or sound from the other side & rarely from center
"Does it playback normal when using built-in audio?"
yes it plays back fine from the built in audio & also from the Kore driver using the mac finder -
I am using the latest Kore Drivers, testing the Kore driver in any other situation so far seems to work as normal weird, I was testing it for sometime after installing 5.5.1 & it was just fine
its working fine again now but this morning it wasn't
I think if I select a file from the finder first then boot AF it works most times from there I'm not sure to be honest I'm really just guessing... but it is working now from the AF UI & it works all the time when used as external wave editor from Ableton
I have been putting off updating My OS & soundcard though I think its way overdue
