Hello, I have just started using AF (last version) and I find it very smart! However, I am facing an issue and I really need to solve this problem: I am tagging thousands of samples and, very often, I need multi tags at the same time (ie 1000 loops with drum, loop, electronic, processed tags). Well, when I push the first tag it starts tagging the whole lot and I have to wait several minutes before going further onto the next tag..I have tried to do that using the tags set-up but when I press OK it does not do the job! Am I missing something? Is there some kind of shortcut? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks Eddy
Hi, the best work around for that would be to use a template with the tags set. The idea of the way it works now is to be easy and not require hitting an apply button or anything like that.
You came around just after I changed the old behavior that forced an Apply Button after after tag was set. People didn't like having to hit Apply and just wanted to click and go. It's tough finding a balance between user preferences.
I tried several time to do as suggested (using templates with tags set). Unfortunately I discovered later on (using the metadata database search) that most of the saved files shared not only the tags but the audio content as well! In a few words I had hundreds of indexed files with the same name..Clicking on them the database understood that these files did not exist (except for the first original file) and a message popped up saying that the files were missing! Ouch :-( So I had to go back to single tags..
No one liked the Apply button when it was in there, so it went away in favor of the current design. Which illustrates the point that AudioFinder has become impossible to develop because every change breaks someone's workflow someplace.
In the latest version I'd added back a text field for enter tags on a line. It's not on the Tag panel, but rather in the info.
