yup, very popular request. massive amount of work in code. it's still a todo, and kudos for the blast from the past. have we really been here that long?
cool ice, good to know the idea is still there-thank u......if it makes things any easier, just to be able to freely assign the commands for Play/Pause would be awesome; the "full set" can wait ;-) !!!!
Yup.....time flies, and apropos, my suggested thought for the day is: "you can't get any younger, but you can try to get smarter and kinder "
Here's a workaround that should help some people: you can add your own custom key commands to ANY program - including AudioFinder - from within OSX. System Preferences / Keyboard / Keyboard Shortcuts / Application Shortcuts. Click the plus sign, select AudioFinder, and away you go. AFAICT, it only works for menu items, so it won;t be a deep enough workaround for some people, but it helps being able to assign key commands to things like the AF window, Metadata DB Manager, Metadata Tags, etc. I'm also using it pretty successfully with Pro Tools - speeds things up quite a bit! :)
No prob ;) Martian - unfortunately, you can't change preexisting key commands. Also, there's no safeguard against creating a new key command that's already used in the program, so you should manually test any new command in AF first to make sure it's not already being used for something else.
actually I did try this a few years ago.. and was able to put in keystrokes for my favourite AU's
shame can t change existign - cos I'd like to change a few keystrokes..
it can get a bit mind meldy to be constantly switching between 2 programs all day.. and in and out changes ... zoom ( I changed DP to match PT for instance )
but actually for me the biggest priority would be to see status of/ and be able to change with k/stroke ;
search folder/ filename / match whole word only...
thats my main use of the program..
after that it would be a kystroke to jup to previous query and run that search in the current library ( note - different from calling up last search result ... ie run last search(s) somewhere else )
